KATHUA, Sept 18: Sant Nirankari Charitable Foundation organized a voluntary blood donation camp at Sant Nirankari Satsang Bhawan, here.
The camp was inaugurated by Romesh Kumar, District Development Commissioner. DDC also donated blood on the occasion and gave the message to society to come forward for voluntarily blood donation.
He added that blood donation is the noblest service to humanity since it gives a new lease of life to the patient who receives it.
Among others present were Dr Bharat Bhushan, ADC, Dr Kajal from Blood Bank GMC Jammu, Dr Uttra Sambyal and Dr V S Jamwal from District Hospital Kathua, BP Singh, Zonal Incharge Udhampur, BR Lachotra Former Director General Planning, Ashish Singh, District Red Cross Society Kathua and several prominent members of the town.
Ajit Singh, Zonal incharge, Sant Nirankari Mandal said that there is no substitute to human blood. To donate blood is, therefore, a great service to the mankind, he added.
He stated said that the devotees here are inspired by the words of Nirankari Baba Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj that “blood should flow in veins and not in drains”. He also mentioned about other social welfare activities of the Mission.
Earlier, Satish Virdi, Sanyojak, Sant Nirankari Mandal presented the welcome address.
The camp was held in collaboration with Blood and Transfusion Department, Government Medical College, Jammu, Indian Red Cross Society and JKSACS.
