Sanskrit scholars delegation calls on Dy CM

JAMMU: A delegation of Sanskrit scholars led by president Kailakh Jyotish Avim Vedic Sansthan Trust, Mahant Rohit Shastri, today met Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh.

The delegation highlighted various issues and problems associated with Sanskrit language in Jammu and Kashmir. The delegation members demanded due share in Government employment for Sanskrit Scholars especially in Education system.

The delegation also called for making Sanskrit language compulsory from 6th standard in JKBOSE syllabus to enable students learn the language from childhood and adopt it as a regular course in their studies. They also demanded that Sanskrit scholars be given separate scholarships.

While interacting with the delegation, the Dy CM assured them that he would project their demands before the State and Union Governments and also take up the issue with the Union HRD Ministry.

State BJP Kissan Morcha President, Rajinder Singh Chib, Kisan Morcha General Secretary, Sunil Dutt (Raka), Sahil Seth and other Scholars were part of the delegation.
