Sanjay’s parents demand probe into his death

JAMMU, Mar 21: The parents of Sanjay Kumar, who died due to burn injuries under mysterious circumstances in Samba, six days back today met with senior police officials and lodged their strong protest. They alleged that their son was murdered by his wife and demanded high level enquiry into the matter.
The relatives of the deceased said that on March 16, night, neighbours heard some cries from Sanjay’s house and rushed to the spot. Sanjay was found battling for his life with90 per cent burns and he was immediately rushed to district hospital by locals. He succumbed to injuries on the way to CMC, Hospital in Ludhiana.
“We suspected some foul play in the mishap. His wife, Rajni Devi and son Uday Sharma (12) were inside the house when the incident took place.  It is still a mystery for us that why Sanjay’s wife did not call neighbors for help and even not tried to save her husband. After hearing the cries, only a neighbour shouted to call locals for help”, said Ved Prakash, father of the deceased.
He demanded a thorough probe into the incident and alleged Sanjay was murdered.
“Once post-mortem reports come then the things will get clear. It is matter of investigation. An FIR has been registered and investigations are on,” said, Sanjeev Chib Station House Officer, Samba.
