Sangarsh releases ‘Rajouri Day’ document

RAJOURI, Apr 7: Sangarsh- a Civic Movement for Justice, Equality, Peace, Prosperity and Brotherhood during a press meet here today released the ‘Rajouri Day’ document which contains the history of struggle of the people of this border district when it was illegally and forcefully captured by the Pakistan sponsored tribal forces.
Interacting with media persons, the resource person of Sangarsh and Coordinator of the event, Vikrant Sharma, informed that Rajouri Day is observed every year on April 13 as a token of remembrance when Rajouri was recaptured and liberated by the Army from the Pakistan sponsored tribal forces. “The day is observed as the ‘Vijay Diwas’ and tribute is presented to the valiant Martyrs at their memorial at the main chowk of Gujjar Mandi, Rajouri”, he said.
Also, speaking on the occasion Advocate Showkat Ali, vice president of the Movement, informed that Sangarsh is going to observe ‘Rajouri Day’ week from April 7 to 13. He said that the events that will mark the week include the one day ‘Self Purification Fast for Peace, Tolerance and Harmony’ on April 8, Seminar on ‘Peace Harmony and Brotherhood ways to Prosperity’ and a written Quiz competition on ‘Different Aspects of Rajouri’ on April 10. The final cultural event will be organized on April 13.
Earlier releasing the document of the Sangarsh Movement, MLC Rajouri, Advocate Vibodh Gupta mooted that it is really a appreciable thinking that a group of young blood and intellectual community in the form of Sangarsh is doing such activities which giving us chance to re-link our future generation with the struggle movement of this Peer Panjal region.
