Jammu, Dec 16: Dr. Sandeep Dubey, popularly known as Sandeep ‘Sufi’ from Department of Dogri, University of Jammu has been awarded prestigious Yuva Puraskar, 2015 by Sahitya Academy for his anthology of Dogri poems “Mustakbil”. The Yuva Puraskar is given to writers of regional languages of India under 35 years of age and carries a cash prize of Rs. 50,000.
Complimenting the young writer for his outstanding contribution to the field of literature, JU Vice Chancellor Prof. R. D. Sharma hoped that he will continue his endeavor towards the promotion of Dogri Language. Prof Sharma praised Mr. Sufi for bringing laurels to the University of Jammu and said that that this will serve as an inspiration to other Dogri writers.
Vice Chancellor also assured Mr. Sufi that University will provide all support for the promotion of Dogri language.
Mr. Sufi also presented a copy of “Mustakbil” to Prof. R. D. Sharma.
