BASANTGARH, May 14: On the first day of his 3-day long tour of the Dudu-Basantgarh area, MLA Ramnagar Ranbir Singh Pathania was taken in a procession right from Chattriari upto Majouri, ShivGali, Basantgarh by the local people who were rejoicing sanctioning of Government Degree College for Dudu-Basantgarh.
While addressing the gathering, Pathania informed that initially the college shall be made operational from a ‘make-shift/temporary location’ in the area and then a full-fledged building shall be erected thereupon.
He further elucidated that with the active support from Union and State Governments, he shall develop and nurture this Degree College as a ‘Model Degree College’ with all the modern facilities including well equipped laboratories, library, and computer labs. He further announced that admission process in this college will start from this session itself.
Pathania had vociferously raised the issue during the Assembly sessions and DDB meetings too. He had also initiated a tehsil-wide signature campaign in support of the overweening public demand. The sanctioning of Degree College has spread a wave of ecstasy among the people of the area, especially students’ community who will be benefitted from the college.
Pathania said that he believes in delivering rather than boasting and sanctioning of two Degree Colleges for Ramnagar constituency i.e, Degree College at Majalta and Dudu-Basantgarh are just a one milestone on the path of development and he is committed to the all-round development of the Ramnagar constituency and many more developmental projects for development of Ramnagar constituency are in offing.
The MLA was accompanied by Director Colleges Development, Addl Deputy Commissioner Udhampur and district level heads of PWD, PHE, Education, Agriculture, Horticulture, PDD, PMGSY, and concerned SDM and Tehsildar besides Shiv Charan, Hans Raj, Rajinder Sharma, Bishan Dass (Mandal presidents), Kuldeep Singh , Yog Raj, Sandokhu Ram, Manzur Ahmed, Saif Ali, Tirath Ram, Hans Raj, Beant Gupta (all sarpanches), Kewal Singh, Shiv Ram, Raj Kumari and a galaxy of local leaders and members of civil society.
