JAMMU, May 14: Samooh Theatre here today organised a cultural evening which was graced by the presence of Padma Shri Dr. Jitendra Udhampuri as chief guest while Javaid Rahi, Secretary Kala Kendra, was special guest and the guests of honour included Prof. Dr. Jasmeet Kour, Sunita Bhadwal, Madhvi Sharma and Sanjeev Kumar Sharma, Senior Journalist.
Highlight of the evening was solo play ‘Bhole Ram Da Jeev’ by Rajinder Kumar Narang, which captivated the audience by the portraying of eight different characters with the innovating theatre skills while Ajay Singh Chib presented a musical tribute to Mohammed Rafi in his melodious voice.
Dr. Sudhir Mahajan, Director, Samooh Theatre delivered the welcome address.
On this occasion, Suresh Kumar Gupta, former PCCF and former Principal Secretary, Department of Culture was felicitated for his distinguished services in environmental conservation and cultural promotion.
Padmashree Dr. Jitender Udhampuri and Dr. Javaid Rahi also spoke on the occasion.
Arun Sharma was Assistant Director of the play and he also operated the play back music while Lalita Sharma, Sweety Zutshi, Harshita Sharma and Aman Verma managed backstage affairs.
Shaleen Mahajan and Krishan Bala designed the costumes and properties of the production while Kamal Chandpuri managed onstage affairs.
Prominent stage, TV and film artists including Baljeet Singh Raina, Jung S Verman, Brij Mohan, Rabia Khajuria, Sapna Soni, Uttam Singh Uttam, Dr. Kamal Sharma and others were also present on the occasion.
