SAMBA, Sept 18: Continuing vigorous drive against illegal mining launched on the directions of SSP Samba, Benam Tosh , police has seized 13 more vehicles which were being used for illegal mining in district Samba.
Police teams comprising of SHO Police Station (PS), Vijaypur, Sandeep Charak, SHO Police Station, Samba, Daljit Singh, incharge Police Post (PP), Rakh Amb Talli, ASI, Ramesh Chander, in charge Police Post, Mansar, ASI Suresh Kumar and incharge Police Post, Supwal, ASI Balbir Kumar under the supervision of DySP, Garu Ram, SDPO Vijaypur, Rohit Kumar and Additional SP Samba, Surinder Choudhary have seized 13 more vehicles being used for illegal mining at different locations in Samba district.
The seized vehicles are nine dumpers bearing registration numbers, JK21J-1079, JK21H-7899, JK21G-3008, JK14H-1494, JK19A-0668, JK19-7700, JK19A-2813, JK02DD-2239, JK02CK-0835, one (01) tipper bearing Registration Number JK02G-1766, two tractor trolleys bearing Registration Nos. JK02AE-0858, JK11B-2521 and one tractor trolley without registration number.
Senior Superintendent of Police Samba, Benam Tosh said that total 155 vehicles have been seized in eight months for illegal mining by Samba police after launching special drive. Police would not allow illegal mining in Samba district and would take yet more stringent actions against mining mafia.
