Samba police seizes 12 vehicles for illegal mining

SAMBA, Oct 1: Continuing vigorous drive against illegal mining launched on the directions of SSP Samba Benam Tosh, police has seized 12 more vehicles which were being used for illegal mining in district Samba.
Police teams comprising of SHO Police Station, (PS) Ghagwal, Bharat Bhushan, SHO Police Station, Vijaypur Sandeep Charak, SHO Police Station, Purmandal Vijay Verma, in charge Police Post (PP) Mansar, PSI Rajat Sharma, in charge Police Post, Rakh Amb Tali, PSI Davinder Singh, in charge Police Post, Rajpura SI, Hardev Singh and ASI Balbir Kumar of PP Supwal under the supervision of DySP, Garu Ram, SDPO, Vijaypur Rohit Kumar, SDPO, Bari Brahmana, Rahul Nagar and Additional SP, Samba, Surinder Choudhary have seized 11 more vehicles being used for illegal mining at different locations in Samba district.
The seized vehicles included Six dumpers bearing registration numbers JK21G-1237, JK21G-9922, JK21G- 4162, JK02BV-2458, JK21A-0221 and JK08H-0461, five tractor trolleys bearing registration numbers. JK21E-3976, JK08G-1655, JK21G-7032, JK02CW-6629, JK21J-2363 and one tractor trolley without registration number.
Senior Superintendent of Police, Samba, Benam Tosh said that total 167 vehicles have been seized in eight months for illegal mining by Samba police after launching special drive against illegal mining. Police would not allow illegal mining in Samba district and would take yet more stringent actions against mining mafia.
