Samba police rescues 5 animals, foils 2 bovine smuggling bids

SAMBA, Dec 10: Continuing its drive against bovine smugglers and their propagators, Samba police has foiled two bovine smuggling attempts in the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS) Samba and rescued five animals from their clutches. The vehicles used in the illegal transportation of bovines were also seized.
Acting on information received from reliable sources, a police party of Police Post (PP) Mansar of PS Samba while performing naka duty at Mansar, intercepted a Mahindra Bolero bearing Registration Number JK19A-1568 for its checking. During checking, three bovines were found inside the vehicle which were tied in a cruel manner and transported illegally.
A case FIR No.299/2025 U/S 223 BNS, 11 PCA Act has been registered at Police Station, Samba and investigation started.
In another incident, a police party of Police Post (PP) SIDCO of PS Samba acting on reliable information intercepted a car bearing Registration Number PB02BK-0620 at SIDCO Chowk Samba and during checking found two bovines inside the vehicle which were tied in a cruel manner & transported illegally.
A case FIR No. 300/2025 U/S 223 BNS, 11 PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Samba and investigation started.
