SAMBA, Feb 18: Continuing its drive against the bovine smugglers and their propagators, Samba police has foiled yet another bovine smuggling attempt in successive day, arrested bovine smuggler, rescued 14 animals and seized truck in the jurisdiction of Police Post (PP) Mansar.
A police party of (PP) Mansar headed by in charge Police Post while performing vehicle checking duty at naka Mansar, intercepted a truck bearing Registration Number JK20C-3470 for checking. During checking of the vehicle, 14 bovines were found laden inside the vehicle which were tied in a cruel manner and were being transported illegally.
The bovine smuggler identified as Shahid Ali, son of Nazir Ahmed of Dhirti, Jhajjar Kotli district Jammu has been arrested and the truck used for illegal transportation of bovines has also been seized.
A case FIR No. 47/2024 U/S 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Samba and investigation started.
