REASI, Feb 18: Reasi Police foiled an attempt of bovine smuggling at Moori Naka and rescued 13 animals besides arresting the accused smugglers.
These bovine animals were being smuggled in a truck bearing Registration number JK19A-3484, which was signaled to stop at Moori naka. Instead of responding to the signal, driver rammed the truck into barricade and tried to run away from the spot.
However, police acted swiftly and overpowered the truck driver as well as his associate, who were later identified as Tahir Hussain, son of Aahdullah and Mohd Altaf, son of Ghulam Mohd, both residents of Partumla Gool, Ramban.
In this connection, a case FIR number 47/2024, Under Section 188 IPC, 11 1(a) PC Act, 2/3 PDP Act has been registered at Police Station Katra.
