SAMBA, June 10: District Police Samba successfully foiled an attempt to smuggle bovines by rescuing 10 animals after arresting a bovine smuggler in the jurisdiction of Police Station Samba.
A police party of PP Mansar during vehicle checking duty at Naka Mansar, intercepted a truck having Registration Number JK02W-1581 coming from Samba side and moving towards Valley via Samba-Mansar-Udhampur road.
During checking of the vehicle, 10 bovines were found laden inside without any permission. The driver identified as Imtiyaz Ahmed, son of MohdKhilil of Hangpora, Anantnag at present ChajjarKotli tehsil, Dansal, district, Jammu has been arrested on the spot.
All the bovines were rescued and shifted to safer place. Vehicle used for smuggling the bovines was also seized on the spot.
In this regard, a case FIR No. 193/2021 U/S 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act stands registered at PS Samba and investigation started.
