Samba police launches drive against menace of illicit liquor

SAMBA, May 6: Samba Police team headed by Inspector Yash Pal Singh, SHO P/S Bari-Brahmna and officials of District Special Branch, Samba under the supervision of  Kulbir Handa, SDPO Bari-Brahmna, raided a shop at Dassal, Bari Brahmna and recovered 45 NIPS (Frooties) of 250 ml each from the possession of one Roldu Ram S/o Durga Dass R/o Smailpur indulged in selling of illicit liquor in his shop.
Accordingly, Case FIR No. 55/2016 u/s 48(A) Excise Act has been registered at Police Station Bari-Brahmna and investigation started.
In another incident, Police team headed by Inspector Suraj Pathania, SHO P/S Ghagwaland officials of District Special Branch, Samba under the supervision of Varinder Singh, Dy SP HQ Samba during Naka checking at Rajpura and Sanoora intercepted a Scooty bearing registration number JK21B/2732 driven by one Mahinder Pal son of Tirath Ram resident of Randwal and during checking found carrying 44 NIPS (Frooties) and 3 Quarters of whisky 180ml each whereas 43 NIPS (Frooties) were also recovered from another person namely Bhola son of Shyam Lal resident of Chhattisgarh A/P Kattal Brahmna who was also found carrying them on his bicycle.
Accordingly, Cases FIR 43/2016 and 44/2016 u/s 48 (A) Excise Act has been registered against them at Police Station Ghagwal.
In the similar incident, another Police Team headed by Inspector Jalil Ahmed Kichloo, SHO P/S Vijaypur and officials of District Special Branch, Samba under the supervision of S S Sambyal, SDPO Vijaypur, during naka checking at Swankha Morh intercepted one Maruti car bearing Registration No. JK02Q/7864 driven by one Sohan Lal S/o Hans Raj R/o Chumbia Ramgarh and recovered 56 NIPS (Frooties) from his vehicle. In this connection, Case FIR No. 56/2016 u/s 48(A) Excise Act has been registered at Police Station Vijaypur.
In another instance, Police team headed by Inspector Ajit Singh, SHO P/S Ramgarhand officials of District Special Branch, Samba under the supervision of S S Sambyal, SDPO Vijaypur, arrested one Ajit Singh son of Chajju Ram resident of Kalah Swankha Ramgarh who was indulged in selling Frooties outside his shop at Kalah Swankha on exorbitant rates and during search Police recovered 25 NIPS (Frooties) from his possession. Accordingly, Case FIR No. 15/2016 u/s 48 (A) Excise Act has been registered at Police Station Ramgarh.
