SAMBA, Sept 3: Vijaypur Police has arrested a hardcore criminal and drug peddler Yogeshwar Singh @ Jaibu who was a great threat to life and liberty of the people in district Samba in general and Vijaypur town in particular and slapped PSA on him.
Police said Yogeshwar son of Yashpal Singh of Udh Mandi, Gurah Salathia in Vijaypur tehsil is a hardcore criminal and was involved in number of criminal activities. He had become a great threat to life and liberty of people. A special team of Police Station, Vijaypur was constituted by SSP, Samba, Dr Koshal Sharma under the close supervision of S. Baljeet Singh, SDPO Vijaypur and Inspector, Rajinder Sharma, SHO P/S Vijaypur who arrested him today.
Police said he is a habitual criminal and his activities are prejudicial to the maintenance of law and order. His motive is not only to create terror among the peaceful and law abiding citizens of the town but also to form biggest criminal gang by encouraging criminal minded person to join the gang. His criminal activities are posing great threat to the public peace and tranquility. Besides, being an influential hardcore criminal, he is also a notorious drug peddler and involved in a number of heinous cases registered against him at PS Vijaypur i.e. FIR No. 47/2015 U/S 307/341/382/ 147/RPC, 3/25, 4/25 Arms Act. FIR No. 32/2017 U/S 341/323/34/RPC, 4/25 Arms Act. FIR No. 116/2017 U/S 8/21 NDPS Act. FIR No.51/2018 U/S 8/21 NDPS Act. For his arrest, teams were constituted many times but he remained successful in giving slip to Police parties earlier.
Accordingly, in order to put an end to his prejudicial criminal activities, District Police Samba compiled all his Police record, prepared his dossier and got issued his warrant under Public Safety Act from Deputy Commissioner Samba to prevent him from indulging in prejudicial criminal activities and lodged him in District Jail Kathua today after execution of warrant under PSA issued against him.
Police said with the arrest of this hardcore criminal and drug peddler the people of the area had a sigh of relief.
