Samba police attaches assets over Rs 1.46 cr under NDPS Act

SAMBA, Apr 28: In a major crackdown against drug trafficking and its financial networks, Samba police under the supervision of SSP Samba, Anuj Kumar-, has attached vehicles of three notorious drug peddlers and frozen multiple bank accounts under the stringent provisions of the NDPS Act in the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS) Bari Brahmana.
Police said during the course of investigation conducted by a Special Investigation Team (SIT) in case FIR No. 59/2026 US 179/180/318 BNS and 8/21/22/27-A/29 of the NDPS Act registered at PS Bari Brahmana, 1935.80 grams of cocaine from accused Dil Mohd, son of Gulam Rasool of H.No 420, Near Digiana Ashram, Gangyal district Jammu was recovered.
Besides, 20.67 grams of heroin from accused Sandeep Khajuria, son of Madan Mohan Khajuria of Raipur Bantalab district Jammu, 14.90 grams of heroin from Wazir Mohd, son of Gulam Rasool of H. No 420, Near Digiana Ashram, Gangyal district Jammu was recovered, police said.
During further course of investigation, it was revealed that the accused persons had acquired various illegal movable/immovable properties from the proceeds of crime. Accordingly, their properties have also been seized/attached under section 68(E)& 68(F)of the NDPS Act, police said.
They included Innova Crysta bearing Registration Number, JK02DN-5821 – approximately valuing Rs.21,54,000.00,Hyundai i20 Sportz bearing Regd. No. JK02CD-8573 – approximately, valuing Rs.6,95,561.00 belonging to Dil Mohammad.
Besides, Hyundai Creta bearing Registration Number, JK02CN-9116 – approximately valuing Rs.11,12,305.00, Hyundai i20 bearing Registration Number, JK02CL-6178 – approximately valuing Rs.8,63,282.00 belonging to Sandeep Khajuira were also seized, police said.
Police said a Tractor M&M Ltd bearing Registration Number JK02DE-4895 – approximately valuing Rs.6,40,000.00 belonging to Wazir Mohammed was also seized.
Police said the total value of seized vehicles is Rs.58,63,148 approximately.
Besides this, the bank accounts of the accused persons were also frozen.
They included three bank accounts on the name of accused Dil Mohd in the J&K Bank Gangyal, PNB Bank Bari Brahmana and ICICI Bank Bari Brahmana having amount of Rs.18,01,266.00, Rs.2,40,987.00 and Rs.16,424.00 respectively.
Bank account on the name of Rubina, W/o Dil Mohd in the J&K Bank, Sunjwan having amount of Rs.1,70,543.00 and the Bank account on the name of Sandeep Khajuria in the J&K Bank, Bantalab having amount of Rs.1,34,959.00.
Total value of frozen bank assets is Rs.23,64,179 approximately
Police said the combined value of all attached properties, including vehicles and bank assets, amounts to approximately Rs.82,27,327 approximately.
The action was carried out under Section 68(E)& 68(F) of the NDPS Act, following a thorough investigation which established that the accused persons were actively involved in illicit trafficking of narcotic substances and had accumulated assets through proceeds of drug-related activities.
Meanwhile Samba police has attached two Kanal land valuing approximately 64 lacs belonging to a notorious drug peddler namely Yogeshwar Singh @Jebu, son of Yashpal Singh of Gurha Slathia, Vijaypur district Samba. The action was taken by Police under section 68(E) & 68(F) of NDPS Act.
Police said the land, situated at Rakh Barotian Vijaypur, identified as illegally acquired property during the course of investigation/enquiry conducted by police. The property was prima facie acquired from illicit trafficking in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances by the drug peddler.
Police said that the accused Yogeshwar Singh is a notorious drug peddler involved in various NDPS cases registered against him at Police Station Vijaypur which included FIR No. 116/2017 U/S 8/21 NDPS Act, FIR No. 51/2018 u/s 8/21 NDPS Act, FIR No. 106/2020 u/s 8/21/22 NDPS Act and FIR No. 203/2021 u/s 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act.
The entire operation is part of the ongoing “Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan”, which seeks to eradicate drug abuse and trafficking from society, police said.
