SAMBA, Oct 8: District Police Samba today arrested one drug peddler under the jurisdiction of Police Station, Ghagwal and recovered 240 Kg poppy straw from him.
Acting on specific information, on the directives of SSP Samba, Dr Koshal Sharma, a police party of PS Ghagwal headed by Sub Inspector, Bansi Lal, SHO Ghagwal under the supervision of Deepak Digra, DySP Headquarters Samba, intercepted a Mahindra Bolero bearing Registration No. JK02AQ/ 8995 which was coming from Kathua side at Naka NHW Tapyal and recovered 240 kg of Poppy Straw from the vehicle during checking.
The vehicle and the contraband item were seized on the spot by police. A case FIR No. 134/2018 U/S 8/15 NDPS Act registered at P/S Ghagwal against the driver and owner of the vehicle Maskeen Ali Son of Reham Ali of Rakh Barotian, Samba and further investigation started.
