Samba police arrests drug peddler, seizes 20.16 grams of heroin in 2 separate incidents

SAMBA, Dec 26: Continuing its drive against drug smugglers/peddlers, Samba police has arrested a drug peddler in the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS) Samba and recovered approximately 9.86 grams of heroin (Chitta) from his possession.
Acting on information received from reliable sources, a team of Police Station (PS) Samba established a special vehicle checking naka near Bhargav Degree College Samba and intercepted a motorcycle bearing Registration No. JK02CW-3550 for its checking which was coming from Vijaypur side. During frisking, approximately 9.86 grams of heroin was recovered from the possession of the motorcyclist.
The drug peddler identified as Mohd Sharif son of Mohd Yousaf of Narsoo Samroli district Udhampur at present Miran Sahib district Jammu has been arrested and contraband item has been seized. The motorcycle has also been seized in the instant case.
A case FIR No. 311/2025 U/S 8/21/22/25 NDPS Act has been registered at PS Samba and investigation started.
In another case Samba police has arrested a drug peddler in the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS) Vijaypur and recovered approximately 10.30 grams of heroin- (Chitta) from his possession.
A police team from Police Station, Vijaypur, while conducting a vehicle checking naka at Tarapur near Rakh Barotian, intercepted a motorcycle without a registration number for checking. During frisking, approximately 10.30 grams of a heroin was recovered from the possession of the motorcyclist.
The drug peddler identified as Naresh Kumar, son of Satnam Kumar R/o Samrala tehsil and district Pathankot (Punjab) has been arrested and contraband item has been seized. The motorcycle involved in the instant case has also been seized.
A case FIR No. 147/2025 u/s 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at PS Vijaypur and investigation started.
The arrest was made under the supervision of SSP Samba Virinder Manhas.
