SAMBA, Mar 31: In a major breakthrough Samba Police succeeded in arresting a notorious criminal namely Ajay Singh alias Bantu S/o Sukhnandan Singh R/o Mandi Garh Tehsil Vijaypur district Samba.
He is involved in a series of cases including FIR No. 123/2005 U/S 452/457 RPC, 4/25 Arms Act FIR No. 30/2008 U/S 307 RPC and FIR No. 68/2008 U/S 451/427 RPC. All these FIRs have been registered in Police Station, Vijaypur.
Police said Ajay was absconding for the last 10 years and was evading his arrest for his involvement in these cases.
Police said after getting specific information about the absconder, a police party of PS Vijaypur headed by Inspector Suraj Singh Pathania under the supervision of SDPO Vijaypur Abhishek Sharma and overall supervision of SSP Samba, Anil Magotra raided at his residence and arrested him.
Meanwhile in its drive launched against the distillation of illicit liquor and its sale, a Police party of Police Station Bari Brahmana arrested one Girdhari Lal S/o Shanker Dass R/o Dhiansar, Bari Brahmana, who is also a history sheeter of police Station Bari Brahmana and recovered 50 pouches of desi liquor from his possession. The Police seized the liquor.
The raid was conducted by Police Party of PS Bari Brahmana headed by Inspector Mahesh Sharma under the supervision of SDPO Bari Brahmana, Mohd. Usman and on the directives of SSP Samba Anil Magotra
In this regard a case FIR No. 66/17 U/S 48-A Excise Act has been registered in Police Station Bari Brahmana and investigation in going on.
