Samba police arrests 8 more thieves, solves 3 theft cases

SAMBA, Feb 7: Police under the guidance of SSP Samba, Benam Tosh, have achieved another major breakthrough during their intensive drive against thieves and arrested eight more thieves including a gang involved in felling of ‘Khair’ trees and stealing ‘Khair’ wood and solved three more theft cases.
Police said stolen property including wooden logs of ‘Khair’ trees worth Rs 25000 copper items worth Rs 20000 and barbed wire worth Rs 5000 have been recovered.
Among eight arrested thieves included six thieves arrested by SHO Police Station (PS), Purmandal, Hardev Singh and in charge Police Post, Utterbehni PSI, Ravi Kant, two thieves were arrested by SHO Police Station, Bari-Brahmana, Sunil Sharma under the supervision of SDPO Bari Brahmana, Rahul Nagar and Additional SP Samba, Surinder Choudhary.
Eight arrested thieves have been identified as Naresh Singh Slathia son of Mukhtiar Singh of Gurha Slathia, Altaf Hussain Liwal, son of Siraje Din of Gojar Basti Lower Munda Changoo Anantnag, Raju son of Haidar Ali of Jolahan Purwa Asama Gonad (U.P), Firoj Ahmed, son of Subarati Ahmed of Naya Koluwa, Payagpur Baharaich (U.P), Nasar, son of Bashir Khardi of Bri Kamila Utterbehni, Sadam alias Zakar, son of Nazam Din of Bri Kamila Utterbehni, Shubam Kumar, son of Gurcharan Pal of Nakodar Punjab at present Teli Basti, Bari-Brahmana and Mithlesh Kumar Pandey, son of Umapati Pandey of Kolhuar Baghai Gopalganj Bihar at present Ranibagh Satwari, Jammu.
Total 32 thieves have been arrested by Samba police within a short period of one month and 14 theft cases have been solved and stolen property worth lacs has been recovered after launching intensive drive against thieves on the directions of SSP Samba, Benam Tosh.
