SAMBA, Apr 27: Samba police has solved a vehicle theft case registered at Police Station (PS) Samba, arrested two notorious thieves and recovered three motorcycles from their possession.
Police said on April 9 this year, a written complaint was lodged at Police Station (PS) Samba by one person namely Anupam Sharma, son of Ganesh Dass of Samthyal Ghagwal district Samba stating therein that his motorcycle bearing Registration Number JK21D-2154, which was parked at IOCL Petrol Pump Samba, had been stolen on April 4.
Police said acting over the complaint, a case FIR No. 81/2026 U/S 303(2) BNS was registered at Police Station Samba and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, a police team of PS Samba on the basis of technical assistance and human intelligence, apprehended two thieves from Tata Showroom Supwal while they were moving towards Samba. During the sustained questioning, both the accused confessed their involvement in the instant case. The arrested persons have been identified as Gurdarshan Singh alias Happy son of Shanak Singh of Pakhri tehsil Ramgarh district Samba and Harpreet Singh alias JP son of Makhan Singh of Khanpur district Samba.
On their disclosure, police has recovered the stolen motorcycle from their possession.
Further investigation led to recovery of two more bikes bearing Registration Number JK21A-2265 and Chasis Number MBLHA10EL8GM0085 which were also seized by the police.
Further investigation of the case is going on.
