SAMBA, May 14: District administration Samba has resumed works on major development projects thereby enabling revival of interstate migrant labourers daily income. In wake of COVID-19 lockdown a major relief to the daily wagers especially interstate migrants who were left with no work.
Deputy Commissioner Samba, Rohit Khajuria informed that out of 7 projects applied for resumption by Executive Engineer R&B Samba, Rajesh Abrol, 06 projects got sanctioned which include black topping of Smailpur Patti Kheddian road under languishing scheme, construction of additional block at District Hospital Samba under PMDP, Stock Training Animal Husbandry building at Balole under NABARD, 160 mt Span Bridge at Utterbani under CRF, Road from Bainglade to Banster under languishing scheme and construction of Bunkers at S M Pura.
He also informed that many other development works have been started including MGNREGA, Bricklin, factories and industries operation in the district. He said labourers are being ensured to be provided with daily works so that their financial and social condition is improved.
The DC laid emphasis upon strict following of Government directions regarding safety and prevention of work force from COVID-19 pandemic. He stressed upon ensuring availability of masks, head caps, sanitizers and other necessary protective equipments at construction site.
