JAMMU, June 28: Subject Specific Teachers recruited in March 2018 by the School Education Department of J&K in collaboration with J&K RMSA Board in a flagship RMSA scheme (now Samagra Shiksha) have appealed the LG GC Murmu to release extension order of their services at the earliest.
The aggrieved teachers said that in March 2018, 550 Subject Specific Teachers were recruited on a term basis for a period of one year. Prior to their termination in March 2019, their services were further continued for another three & half months from March 11, 2019 to 30 June, 2019. Furthermore, they were rehired for another period of one month from July 10, 2019 to August 10, 2019.
“Post abrogation of Article 370 &35 A from erstwhile J&K, the then Governor of the State (now UT), Satya Pal Malik approved file for the further extension of the services of J&K Subject Specific Teachers and due to some unknown rationales the file was kept held by the State Administrative Council (SAC) in October 2019 owing some minor additions and matter came to Jammu Civil Secretariat (after Darbar move from Civil Secretariat Srinagar),” they said.
They said while ten months have passed but still extension order for the services of Subject Specific Teachers is lingering in the premises of Civil Secretariat Jammu. “During umpteen times, we raised our long pending genuine concern with the State Project Director J&K Samagra Shiksha & Advisors to school educations but in return got only fake assurances that they are going to hire them very soon,” the teachers said.
Subject Specific Teachers appealed the Lieutenant Governor of J&K Girish Chandra Murmu, K K Sharma (Advisor for School Education to LG) and Dr Asgar Samoon (Principal Secretary to School Education) for an early release of the order as they are ready to take community and online classes in the far flung areas of J&K UT.
