JAMMU, Aug 17: Chief Education Officer Jammu, Satpal Sharma today paid surprise visit to various Government schools of Bhalwal Zone and inspected the functioning.
During the visit, the CEO found several teaching and non-teaching employees absent from duty unauthorizedly. He asked the concerned for initiating stern action against the absentees.
At Government Middle School, Mawa, the CEO found that one Master namely Neeraj Sharma and a teacher namely Sanjeev Kumar were unauthorizedly absent from duty.
The CEO expressed concern over the poor performance of subject teachers and directed them to improve their working.
At Government High School, Mathwar, the CEO found that only two teachers were present in the school. Masters namely Vinod Kumar Bali, Suresh Sahni, Puran Chand, Pardeep Kumar and Teachers namely Tariq Hussain„ Anupama Sharma and Pallvi Gupta were found un-authorizedly absent from duty. Besides, Junior Assistant namely Chandan Singh was also found absent from duty.
The CEO visited the classrooms and checked the notebooks of students and expressed dismay over incomplete tasks in all the subjects. He took strong cognizance of this matter of grave concern and ordered withholding of salary of Neeraj Sharma, Master Govt. Middle School Mawa (Bhalwal) and all the absentees of Government High School, Mathwar for the month of August, 2019.
Meanwhile, the CEO ordered constitution of an enquiry team to look into the poor functioning and non-seriousness of staff of these institutions.
