JAMMU, Oct 6: As part of Senior Citizen’s Week being observed at Salal Power Station from October 1 to October7, a workshop on ‘Awareness about common diseases among senior citizens’ was organized at Jyotipuram today. The workshop was inaugurated by Rakesh Goel, Chief Engin-eer (Civil) in the presence of Sera-phina Lakra, Senior Manager (HR), Dr. Naveen Kumar, ACMO, Dr. Dheeraj Sharma, ACMO, Dr. P.L. Sharma, B.B.Kalyan, Manager (Law) and senior citizens of Village Bidda, Village Agharballian and Reasi.
Speaking on the occasion, Goel said that information shared by doctors of NHPC about the common diseases prevalent among senior citizens and adapting a life style to keep away such diseases need to be adhered to for overall fitness of the participants. He further said that aim of this workshop during observance of senior citizen’s week at Salal Power Station as to apprise the participants about the common diseases like Diabetese, Blood Pressure, Heart related diseases etc. and suggesting simple tips to remain away from such disorders as far as possible with an appropriate life style.
Earlier, Dr Dheeraj and Dr. Naveen apprised the participants about the common diseases and suggested simple tips to live a healthy life whereas B.B. Kalyan, Manager (Law) threw light on the appropriate life style, senior citizens should maintain to remain fit and happy.
President, Sanatan Dharam Sabha, BrahmSwaroop, Madan Lal Sharma, Advocate and Karan Dev too shared their experiences during the Workshop and thanked Salal Management for organising the Program.
