Sakina reviews public service delivery system

JAMMU, June 11: Minister for Social Welfare, Sakina Itoo today reviewed public services delivery system besides taking stock of ongoing development works in Jammu region.
Sakina, who is here on the rotational weeklong tour to attend Summer Secretariat, had a detailed review of essential services like power and water supply, irrigation, CAPD, Agriculture, RDD and other civic amenities especially in view of summer days.
Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Pardeep Gupta, IGP, Jammu, Director Rural Development Jammu, Director Agriculture Jammu, Chief Engineer, PHE Jammu, Chief Engineer M&RE, Joint Commissioner, JMC, Deputy Director Health Services Jammu and other senior officers of various departments attended the meeting.
The Minister also reviewed the arrangements for upcoming Shri Amarnathji Yatra being put in place in Yatri Niwas Jammu and enroute, scheduled to be commenced on June 28.
The meeting was informed that all foolproof arrangements including supply of power and drinking water, cleanliness, medical facilities and issuing of health certificate to yatries have been made. She was also informed that enroute Kathua, Samba, Udhampur and Ramban, the concerned Deputy Commissioners will ensure sanitation in the halting stations as well as arrangements of adequate tents and toilets for the convenience of yatries.
The Minister asked the Director CAPD to make sure that timely ration supply is ensured in Jammu region especially in far off parts and earthquake affected districts like Doda, Kishtwar and Ramban.  In this regard, she called for holding regular inspection of the sale depots to check quality of ration supply.
Reviewing the power and water supply scenario, the Minister asked the concerned Chief Engineers to activate their field functionaries and ensure immediate repair of damaged feeder transformers on priority basis. She also directed them to apply uniform methods for power curtailment and publish the curtailment schedule in electronic and print media for convenience of the public.
Itoo also took stock of progress of ongoing development projects being taken up by ERA, NBCC and PWD in Jammu city besides reviewing MGNREGA and law and order   situation in the region.
