Sahu stresses on strict monitoring of MCC

JAMMU, Mar 13: A meeting was convened by Returning Officer 6 Jammu Parliamentary Constituency Ajeet Kumar Sahu with the Assistant Returning Officers, officers of the concerned departments and the master trainers here today.
Threadbare discussions were held on various issues pertaining to security, adherence to Model Code of Conduct, training schedules for the polling staff, electoral rolls and various other issues.
RO directed the concerned AROs to ensure strict vigil and monitoring to ensure compliance to the Model Code of Conduct and other guidelines of the Election Commission. He stressed that the polling staff should be kept sensitised about the entire process and discussed a detailed training schedule with the participants.
Mr Sahu said that there should be complete adherence to the guidelines regarding processions, expenditure monitoring, advertisements and paid news which should be under severe monitoring.
All the Assistant Returning Officers were directed to inspect all the polling stations under their charge and ensure that all the basic facilities for the conduct of elections and for the facilitation of the voters are available at all the polling stations.
Returning Officer also reviewed the security arrangements with the SSP Jammu Atul Goel and took a detailed review of the security scenario and vulnerability mapping of various areas.
Mr. Sahu maintained that close coordination and synergy is vital for the smooth conduct of the election.
