The SAGY scheme, launched by PM Narendra Modi was an initiative to develop the rural villages into model villages in October, 2014. Under the scheme, villages will be offered smart schools, universal access to basic health facilities, pucca housing to homeless villagers and the development of Gram panchayats and lot more. Five months have passed since this scheme started, but the irony of the situation is that the legislators of our J&K who are identified to join this scheme are MP Dr. Jitendra Singh,who is also a Central minister and MP of Ladakh, Thupstan Chhewang, only. Other Ministers should come forward to join the scheme and focus to eliminate poverty in J&K.
