Sagar takes stock of developmental works

SRINAGAR, Mar 21: Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Ali Mohammad Sagar today exhorted upon officers to ensure maximum benefit of developmental and welfare schemes launched by Government to the people and perform duties with full zeal, enthusiasm and sense of responsibility.
Mr. Sagar said that Government is committed for the welfare and prosperity of the people besides accomplishing their better economic status
This was stated by the Minister while addressing a meeting of officers convened to assess the functioning of various developmental works being executed in Srinagar city.
Mr. Sagar asked about the works being executed at Syed Merak Shah Road besides beautification and renovation work of Khankahi Mohallah. He urged upon the officers to speed up the pace of work and complete the task within stipulated time.
Meanwhile, Mr. Sagar conducted an extensive tour of Srinagar city and took stock of the pace of developmental works being executed in the city.
During the tour, the Minister visited various areas including Miskeen Bagh, Daulatabad, Mirza Bagh, Mughal Mohalla, Raieteng, Rainawari and other adjoining areas of the vicinity.
He said that in Miskeen Bagh area work on four bridges has been taken in hand and construction work on three bridges being constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 29 lakh will be started soon.
During his tour, several deputations put forth their demands before the Minister pertaining to day to day concerns.
The Minister gave patient hearing to the deputationists and assured them that their genuine demands would be taken up with the concerned authorities for early redressal.
On the occasion, the Minister asked people to extend their cooperation for maintaining peace in the valley which is pre-requisite for the development and prosperity of the State adding that people’s cooperation is vital in this regard.
He also gave on spot directions to concerned authorities to expedite the works being executed for the drainage and sewerage system in the area besides maintaining cleanliness so that people can be benefitted.
Mr. Sagar also made announcement of construction of public park in the area for which he directed concerned agencies to prepare necessary report.
