SRINAGAR, Nov 22: While urging the officers to ensure the developmental projects undertaken by the Government to be completed within the stipulated timeframe, the Minister for Rural Development, Panchayati Raj, Law and Parliamentary Affairs, Ali Mohammad Sagar has said that the same is necessary for percolating the benefits of the welfare schemes to the people.
The Minister said this during his extensive tour of the old city Srinagar. He was accompanied by Vice Chairman LAWDA, Irfan Yaseen and other senior officers of R&B, SMC, UEED, PHE and PDD.
Mr. Sagar while directing the Vice Chairman LAWDA to speed up the beautification works being carried on the Brari Nambal Lagoon at Baba Demb said that it can serve as a major tourist attraction in the old city Srinagar. He asked him to undertake other necessary work also.
The Minister also exhorted upon the officers to speed up the work on the Gousia Library being constructed at Baba Demb so that it is completed within the stipulated time period adding that it would go a long way in providing the much needed reading room and library facilities to the people living in the area and its catchments.
Mr. Sagar also inspected the pace of work on the Syed Mirak Shah and KZP road projects and was told that the patch from Rainawari to Malkhah would soon be made through. He directed the concerned to ensure that the project is completed as early as possible as it would go a long way in ensuring better traffic mobility in the old city.
The Minister also visited Bagh-i-Roop Singh and directed the concerned officers to ensure proper cleanliness of the area and its surrounding water body.
