UDHAMPUR, Feb 6: Safai Karamchari Union, Udhampur, today gave a call of Kam Choro Hartal from February 7, to all Safai Karamcharis working under Municipal Council, Udhampur, in protest of Government’s negligent attitude towards their charter of demands.
President of the Union, Shafi said though the Government has already accepted most of their demands yet it (Government) has not taken any necessary measure in this regard.
Highlighting their demands like regularization of all daily wagers and casual labourers against vacant posts in the District Municipal Council, deployment of more Safai Karamcharis and release of two installments of 6th Pay Commission to permanent Safai Karamcharis of the Udhampur Town, the Union president said they had decided to suspend work from February 7.
He appealed the Government and Ministry of Urban Development to consider their demands at the earliest to avoid any public inconvenience.
