Safai Karamcharis continue protest for regularization, other demands

UDHAMPUR, Dec 2: For the second consecutive day, employees of the Municipal Committee Udhampur today protested in front of the Municipal Office, pressing for their long pending demands.
They are demanding regularization of all those serving for the last seven years, implementation of minimum wages policy as per other UTs, clearing all pending cases of SRO 43, room for Safai Karamcharis in all Municipal committees, clearance of pending arrears of 7th Pay Commission of NPS employees and grant of extra two and half days wages to all Safai Karamcharis.
Under the banner of Akhil Bhartiya Safai Mazdoor Sangh Udhampur, the protesting employees assembled in front of the office of Municipal Committee Udhampur and raised slogans in support of their long pending demands.
The protest dharna was organized under the leadership of District President Yousuf, Chairman Pappu, President David Sandhu and Vice president Ashok.
Yousuf said that a memorandum of demands was forwarded to Lt Governor Manoj Sinha but no positive action was taken by the Government following which Akhil Bhartiya Safai Mazdoor Sangh had served an ultimatum over the demands.
