Sadhu makes minor dwarf girl pregnant, nabbed from Varanasi

REASI, Nov 3: A middle aged `Sadhu Bawa’ (So called Holyman) has been arrested by Reasi police, who had made a minor dwarf girl of Panasa village pregnant and had gone under ground for the last more than four weeks.
Talking to media-persons today SSP Reasi, Nisha Nathyal disclosed that the accused Sadhu was nabbed from Varanasi and was brought here last night. She said the accused was nabbed by police party from Manikaran Ghat at Varanasi. He tried to give slip to the police party but was over powered by the raiding team. He has been identified as Swami Brahmanand Saraswati, son of Ramanand Saraswati, resident of Mathura (UP).
The SSP disclosed that this Bawa came to the village Panasa, a few years back and started living under a mango tree. A village family had mercy on this Sadhu and offered him a shelter to live at a corner of the house. Several people used to visit this Sadhu and he had won the confidence of the villagers. This minor girl of a poor family residing in the neighbourhood was also used to visit Sadhu and perform some work for him.
This `Dongi Bawa’ lured the innocent minor dwarf girl and was sexually abused her for the last many months. He had threatened her not to tell any body about it. The girl’s health deteriorated one day and the family took her to the Reasi hospital where the doctors told that she was pregnant for the last five months. The parents inquired from the girl about it then she narrated the whole story. The fake Sadhu came to know that girl had been taken to hospital, he went underground on the same night sensing trouble for him. Later, the girl delivered a dead baby in Shalamar hospital Jammu after operation on October 6, 2018.
The SSP said that a case FIR No. 177/ 2018 under section 376 has been registered against the Sadhu and he has been sent behind the bars. She said that she herself was supervising the operation and also sought help from UP Police. She lauded the efforts of ASP, Reasi SK Chouhan, DySP Hqrs Dr Nikhil Gogna and SHO Insp Ashwani Sharma.
