KATHUA, Dec 26: Minister for Planning and Development and Labour and Employment, Ajay Sadhotra today inaugurated Employment Fair at Mini Stadium at Hiranagar.
The fair was organized by District Employment and Counseling Center Kathua with the aim to educate local youth about the benefits of various employment schemes.
Commissioner Secretary Labour and Employment B.A. Runyal, DDC Kathua, Jitendra K Singh, Labour Commissioner Nirmal Sharma, Director Employment, Dr Abdul Rashid, SSP Kathua, Mohan Lal and Joint Director Employment Jammu, Manisha Sareen were among others present on the occasion.
The Minister went round the stalls setup by various departments including Agriculture, Horticulture, Sericulture, Floriculture, Fisheries, Industries, Handloom and Animal husbandry, Sheep Husbandry, Rural Dev. Deptt, DRDA, Social Welfare, Health, education, labour, JKEDI, Handicraft, Khadi Village Industrial Board, Employment department besides several bankers.
On the occasion, leaflets, literature and pamphlets of different schemes and programmes were distributed among the visitors.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister called upon the educated unemployed youth to take maximum benefits by the welfare schemes launched by the Government by establishing their own income ventures under different sectors. He said for the purpose the Government is providing lucrative loans with subsidies to the intending youth.
The Minister said that Government cannot provide jobs to every individual and asked the youth to opt self ventures under different sectors for self employment. He said that over 3 lakh unemployed youth have been registered with the Employment and Counseling Centers across the State.
On the occasion, an impressive cultural show was presented by famous Dogri Folk Group Khajoor Singh & Party, organised by Information Department which enthralled the audience besides theme based skits presented by the artists motivating the youth to go for self employment.
Deputy Director, Employment and Counseling Centre Kathua, in his welcome address said that the aim of employment fair was to aware the unemployed educated youth about various schemes under which they would take benefits for setting up of their ventures.
District and tehsil level officers, Panchs and Sarpanchs and a large number of people were also participated in the one day fair.
