JAMMU, June 12: National Conference (NC) additional general secretary and former Minister, Ajay Kumar Sadhotra today assailed immature observations of the BJP national general secretary, Tarun Chugh against Omar Abdullah, saying it does not auger well for the political non entity who doesn’t have any base in his home State of Punjab to be judgemental on the leader of masses in Jammu and Kashmir.
In a statement, Sadhotra said that instead of having an introspection over fast dwindling fortunes of the BJP across the country in general and complete rout in Punjab in particular, Tarun Chugh is shamelessly giving sermons to the leadership in Jammu and Kashmir politics.
Sadhotra advised Tarun Chugh to refrain from making unsolicited comments without a comprehensive understanding and political dynamics of Jammu and Kashmir. Being the so-called in charge of his party in this part of the country, he should better ponder why the BJP could not dare to even nominate a single candidate for one of three constituencies of the Kashmir Valley in the just concluded Lok Sabha elections, he added.
Questioning the political credentials of Tarun Chugh, the NC leader wondered over his sermon to a former Chief Minister and a Union Minister, saying the motor mouthed BJP national general secretary has never ever been able to get elected even as a Ward member of any civic body. By indulging in petty politics, Chugh is actually making fun of himself, he added.
“We can understand the frustration and desperation of Tarun Chugh, whose political influence in Punjab saw lowest depths, as none of the BJP candidates could win”, Sadhotra said.
Sadhotra slammed Chugh for his political naivety and lack of understanding, saying his tirade against the NC from time to time exposes his little knowledge about sensitive Jammu and Kashmir. Being forced on the people of Jammu and Kashmir as so-called BJP incharge does not make him expert on the sensitivities of this part of the country, which his ilk tend to be after visiting the State as political adventurers. He advised him to do some homework on Jammu and Kashmir and he will get to know that the NC leadership tied the destiny of this sensitive State with Mahatma Gandhi’s secular India by rejecting the two-nation theory.
