SAC feels dejected as Modi ignores POJK refugees

JAMMU, June 24: Jammu Kashmir Sharnarthi Action Committee has expressed concern that the Chairman of BJP Election Campaign Committee and Chief Minister of Gujarat, Narendra Modi did not make any mention about the plight of POJK displaced persons in his speech at Madhopur yesterday.
In a statement issued here today president of the Committee Gurdeep Singh Pandey while welcoming Mr Modi’s statement seeking justice for displaced Pandits said that at the same time Modi ignored the plight of refugees from POJK who were too forced to flee from their homes leaving all their property behind and since then these hapless refugees are fighting for their rights.
He said the BJP has ignored the POJK refugees who are putting up in Jammu region and have been striving for decades together even to register the claims of their left over property.
He said that former Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee had once promised that POJK refugees would be provided justice but it is not known why the present BJP leadership has ignored them.
The Committee expressed the hope that Modi will support the long pending   demand of POJK refugees.
It also decided to meet top brass of BJP leadership and other parties to solicit the support for their demand.
