JAMMU, Mar 7: Shri Amarnath Barfani Langars Organization (SABLO) an association of various langar organizations from both Pahalgam and Baltal routes to the holy cave engaged in providing free food, blanket, night shelter and other facilities to pilgrims of holy Amarnath shrine during their yatra every year has submitted 77 applications to Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB) for grant of permissions for setting up of free langer service to the devotees for this year’s yatra.
The SABLO has also submitted another five applications to the Shrine Board seeking permissions for rendering miscellaneous services like public address system, free medical camp, shoe rack and clock room service at holy cave during the annual yatra of this year.
In a statement issued here today, SABLO said that many members were advised by the organization to directly submit their applications to SASB for grant of permission for setting up langars on the two tracks to holy cave as they were unable to attend the meeting of the organization on February 21 at Chandigarh for collecting the applications due to recent Jat agitation in Haryana.
The SABLO said that serious concern has been expressed by the organization members and they have raised objections to the contents of terms and conditions for setting of langars during Amarnathji yatra by the SASB especially police verification and affidavit from president /chairman/ secretary of respective langar associations in its meeting held at Chandigarh on February 21 and Delhi on February 25 respectively.
However the SABLO said that the applications were submitted to SASB in the larger interest to avoid delay in the procession of these applications. It also expressed the hope that such clauses and contents will be revoked afterwards.
The memorandum was submitted to representatives of SASB by Vijay Thakur president SABLO who was accompanied by general secretary, Rajan Gupta, Kuldeep Singh and Vijay Mehra joint secretaries and others.
