JAMMU, Oct 8: Mookherjee Nagar branch, Jammu Mahanagar of Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS) today, took out a “Path Sanchalan”, route march on the occasion of “Vijay Dashmi” the foundation day of Sangh at Talab Tillo.
Before taking out the procession, “Shastra Poojan” was also performed by the “Swayamsewaks” with all rituals. For the event, RSS volunteers brought licensed weapons, majority of which included traditional “Dands (Bamboo sticks)” carried by the volunteers while in full dress.
The volunteers could be seen parading in their full dresses after the “Shastra Poojan” and were soon on the roads. The Path Sanchalan started from Poonch House, moved through Talab Tillo main road till Bohri. It then moved towards Colonel Colony. After combing through various inroads of Colonel Colony, Path Sanchalan proceeded through Kabir Colony before finally culminating at its initial point at Poonch House.
The whole programme was conducted under the supervision of “Sangh Nagar Karyavah” Pawan, who while giving details of the programmes said that RSS was established on the day of “Vijay Dashmi” marking the victory of good over evil, in 1925 by Dr. Keshav Baliram Hedgewar and so the organization observes this day every year as the one of the prime festivals of Sangha.
RSS Prant Seh-Vyavastha Pramukh, Darshan Choudhary provided the useful information about the beginning and the working of RSS to all the volunteers and prominent Civil Society members in his lecture. He said that at the time of continued oppression by the British, Dr. Baliram Hedgewar felt the dire need to unify the whole society by infusion the spirit of nationalism in common masses. RSS was formed to infuse strong nationalism in the core of every Indian, which intends to prevent it from the existent dangers as well as the potent dangers of future. It also serves the purpose of character building in the society, he said and added that RSS has been working for 94 years now to achieve this aim as Dr. Hedgewar believed that a handful of British were able to rule over the vast country of India because of lack of unity in Indian society. RSS promotes the ideals of upholding Indian culture and the values of a civil society, to fulfill the mission, he said.
Darshan Choudhary, added that RSS believes in the principle of “Vasudev Kutumbhkam (whole world is one family)” a concept given by Hinduism to entire universe and works for achieving the broader aim of “sarve bhavantu sukhinah, sarve santu niramyah, sarve bhadraani psyantu, ma kaschit dukhbhagbhavet” which means all are to be happy, be healthy, see good, may all enjoy prosperity, may none suffer and added that the typical RSS volunteer works whole life to achieve this selfless aim.
