JAMMU, Oct 15: The 96th Foundation Day of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) was celebrated today at various places in Jammu region by performing Shastra Pujan.
The Shastra Pujan was performed at Bhaderwah in which a number of Swayamsevaks participated.
Speaking on the occasion, RSS Doda Vibhag Sangchalak, Ashok Kotwal urged the Swayamsevakas to actively participate in nation building process.
Kotwal appealed Swayamsevaks to extend the Shakhas to every village.
The Foundation Day was also celebrated by RSS in Samba today on the occasion of Vijay Dashmi where the Shastra Pujan was performed in a traditional way.
The Swayamsevaks attired in uniforms performed Pujan. On the occasion, district Pracharak Anurag addressed the Swayamsevaks. Others present on the occasion were Zila Sangh Chalak, Shakti Prasad and Zila Pracharak, Anil.
A handout of RSS stated that due to COVID-19 pandemic, the annual full dress route march was not organized this time but the Swayamsevaks performed physical exercises including Surya Namaskar, Samta and Shastra Pujan.
Meanwhile, weapon worship was performed on the occasion of Vijaydashami by Samba unit of Rajput Sabha also. Many people of the Rajput fraternity including former State president of Rajput Sabha , Narayan Singh, Samba district president Inder Singh and others participated in the function.
The speakers highlighted the religious significance of Vijaydashmi and worshiping of weapons.
Shastra Pujan was also performed by Rashtriya Bajrang Dal activists at Jammu led by Rakesh Bajrangi. The activists of Dal exhibited weapons at their office, cleaned them first and then worshiped them in a traditional manner.
