RSP delegation submits memo to Relief Commissioner

JAMMU, Oct 5: The J&K unit of Rashtriya Samajwadi Party (secular) today submitted a memorandum highlighting the demands and problems of migrant minority community to Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner, YP Suman.
In a meeting with Relief Commissioner, Rashtriya Samajwadi Party (RSP) said that since exodus in 1989-90, KPs living in various parts of the country particularly in Jammu region in the camps and non-camps and their problems are being multiplied manifold day by day due to impassionate attitude of the Government.
The RSP delegation expressed concern over the fact that no decision till date has been made by the concerned authority on the left over immovable property of KPs, which has been illegally grabbed by the miscreants with the mutilations in the revenue records.
The delegation demanded that early release of remaining 50% ex-gratia relief of the gutted houses, publicize list of candidates qualified for appointments in various departments under PM’s Employment Package in the year 2008, maintenance and renovation of quarters in the camps, one job to one family, one time compensation to the over-aged youth, enhancement of cash relief to Rs 20,000 per family per month, ensure ration supply in time and issuance of new ration cards in a time bound manner.
The other demands highlighted by the delegation include, increase of security arrangements in all migrant camps, sanctioning of interest free long term loan in favour of over aged youth, and special recruitment drive for KP youth in J&K police.
Kanaya Lal Raina, president, migrant cell, RSP J&K, Kuldeep Bhat, vice president, Inder Koul general secretary, Kapil Koul, secretary and many others were part of the delegation.
