JAMMU, Mar 18: Various deputations today called on Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and presented to him memoranda of their demands.
In his meeting with the Chief Minister, Vice-Chairman Kissan Advisory Board R S Sharma discussed various development issues pertaining to Nowshera Assembly Constituency.
He demanded PDD Division in Nowshera , two model village projects for Sunderbani and Nowshera, compensation for border migrants, special police recruitment drive for youth of Nowshera constituency, measures to boost sericulture and cocoon production in the area, setting up of branches of SUKAST in Nowshera and Sunderbani and establishment of trauma hospital in the area .
He also demanded declaration of select list of class IV of Nowshera constituency for which the applications were invited in 2006.
A deputation from Banihal led by Minister of State for Technical Education Vaqar Rasool during his meeting with the Chief Minister requested for creation of new RDD block at Kehvi, Tehsil status for Ramsoo, Tourism Development Authority for Banihal and, Nayabat at Khevi.
A deputation from Zanskar led by Councilor Kargil Tsering Anguds and Block President JKNC Tsewang Narboo during its interaction with the Chief Minister highlighted various development demands of Zanskar area and sought Chief Minister intervention in this matter.
A deputation of Numberdar Association brought to the notice of Chief Minister various demands relating to the welfare of the members of the Association.
The Chief Minister gave them patient hearing and said that the demands put forth in the memoranda would be examined and given due consideration.
