Rs 9.60 lakh cash seized

RAMBAN, Sept 13: Chanderkote Police seized Rs 9.60 lakh cash today.
As per police sources, a team from Police Station Chanderkote led by PSI Ankush Bhau during checking intercepted a Wagon-R car bearing registration number JK01K-0732 which was subjected to thorough checking and frisking of the passengers boarded on the car.
During checking of the car, cash amounting to Rs 9.60 lakh was recovered from the bag of a person namely Radhe Syam, son of Rachpal Singh of Vivekananda Nagar Sector 3 Pushpa Colony Sonava Ki Doongri Alwar Rajasthan who was sitting in the car along with 3 other persons.
On enquiry, Radhe Syam was unable to explain satisfactorily the source of huge cash which created suspicion that the recovered cash could be stolen or otherwise.
The recovered cash was seized on spot. Regarding seized cash, the Income Tax Department has been informed to ascertain the source of recovered cash and corresponding tax liability.
In this regard, complaint under Section 102 and 457 CrPC shall be produced before the Court of Law.
The overall recovery was carried out under the supervision of SHO Chanderkote Inspector Padam Dev Singh, DySP Headquarters Ramban Pardeep Singh Sen and SSP Ramban Mohita Sharma.
