JAMMU: An amount of Rs 619 crore has been earmarked for strengthening power infrastructure and electrification of households in rural areas in Jammu and Kashmir, Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh said today.
Replying to a question by MLA Rajeev Sharma in Assembly, he said that Jammu and Kashmir has received Rs 619.67 crore under the Centre’s Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana (DDUGJY) for strengthening of infrastructure in power sector and electrification of un-electrified households in rural areas.
Singh said the execution of works under the scheme would be taken up after completion of tendering process, which has already been started. (AGENCIES)
