Rs 30 lakh cash seized from Myanmarese

JAMMU, Aug 8: Police have recovered about Rs 30 lakh cash from the possession of two Rohingyas at Chatta under the jurisdiction of Channi Himmat police station and were examining the source of such a huge cash.
Police was working on different theories including whether the seized cash was part of terror funding, hawala money or stolen during thefts.
“Every aspect is under investigation,” police said tonight, adding that Noor Alam and Ismayil, two Myanmarese, putting up near Chatta, were absconding but their relatives have been detained for questioning to get clues about the cash, which was around Rs 30 lakh.
The cash had been dumped in jhuggies of the Myanmarese and police after obtaining specific information seized it.
Police, meanwhile, continued searches for Ismayil and Noor Alam as their arrest could give them vital clues about source of the cash and their further contacts in Jammu.
Police parties led by SHO Channi Himmat Mohammad Aslam, Incharge Narwal Police Post Sub Inspector Varuneshwar Singh and Incharge Chatta Police Post ASI Mohammad Din made the arrests under the supervision of SSP Jammu Vivek Gupta and SP City (South) Vinay Sharma.
