Rs 14 lakh released for Chenani-Pattangarh road: DDC

UDHAMPUR, Oct 11: District Development Commi-ssioner, Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary along with team of District Officers and sub-divisional administration organized public meetings and camps for enrollment of women and destitute under social security scheme “Aasra” here today.
More than 500 beneficiaries mainly women and workers were enrolled under Aasra scheme which was recently launched by the State Government. To-date status of other flagship programmes was also discussed during the meetings.
The DDC informed that Govt has released Rs 14 lakh for the upgradation of Chenani-Pattangarh road and Rs. 8 crore more will be requisitioned for providing electricity in un-electrified villages of the district under Deen Dayal Upadhaya Scheme. Two additional Ration Depots will be provided in Chenani town. Eight foot bridges were approved for various panchayats near schools.
He issued instructions to the Chief Education Officer for restoration of 19 posts to Chenani zone and providing teachers in schools facing shortage of staff. Issues related to Cold Storage at Bain, payment for damages due to road construction, circular road, bus stand expansion and protection work in Kud were also discussed in the meeting.
Dr Shahid added that Gaurikund track will be developed for local tourism and directed for construction of 2 bridges in Karla panchayat, upgradation of facilities at Shamshan Ghat Chenani, completion of bridge on Chenani-Champari road, restoration of damaged infrastructure in chenani town, payment of land compensation in PMGSY roads, opening of LPG outlet and resolution of pending issues with PDC.
All district officers attended the meetings.
