JAMMU, July 15: The Elite Counter Insurgency Force (Uniform) of the Rashtriya Rifles today celebrated its tenth Raising Day in a simple but impressive function.
The celebration commenced with wreath laying at the ‘Wall of Remembrance’ by Major General BS Negi, YSM SM, VSM the General Officer Commanding Uniform Force and senior officers, to pay homage to the martyrs of the Uniform Force in solemn remembrance of their supreme sacrifice in the service of nation.
The Counter Insurgency Force was raised on July 15, 2002 as part of Rashtriya Rifles to combat the ongoing cross-border terrorism in the districts of Reasi, Rajouri, and Ramban of the Jammu region of the State.
Since its raising, the Force achieved enviable operational success in its 10 years of employment and has scaled many heights of achievement and glory with each year passing.
The Force has also undertaken various projects focused on development and upgradation of Human Resources skills in the remote and under-developed region for the upliftment of the populace of the region.
While paying tribute to the martyrs, all the ranks of the Force pledged to uphold its motto ‘Aantank Ka Vinash, Awam Ka Vikas’ means eradication of terrorism and development of local populace.
