JAMMU, Feb 5: All J&K Retired Police Personals Forum (RPPF) today staged a protest demonstration against the Government for ignoring their demand of providing pay anomaly benefit to retired persons.
Scores of retired police personnel under the leadership of RPPF president, Ajit Singh, assembled this morning in front of Press Club Jammu, and raised slogans against the Government for discriminating with retired police personnel.
Addressing the protesting police personnel, Ajit Singh said Government Order No 229-F of 2014 dated October 17, 2014 is completely violation of High Court order contempt SWP No 277/2009 (in SWP No 203/07).
“In this Government order, no relief is provided to the police personnel (now retired) who have been fighting this case since 1996 to 2014”, he alleged and condemned the order.
He warned the Government to provide pay anomaly benefit to the retired persons who fought this case in High Court. Their efforts should not go waste otherwise the RPPF will intensify their protest and come on streets, he added.
Singh further stated that they have already filed case of 350 retired police personnel in the High Court. He alleged that martyr Balbinder Singh alias Ranja, who gained martyrdom in Raghunath Temple while fighting with the militants in the year 2002, was honoured with Rashtriyapati Medal, Police Medal and Sher-e-Kashmir Medal post mortally but no effect of the award was given to his family by denying his widow free of cost air facility, telephone facility, free electricity and other facilities.
Vice-president, RPPF, Mohd Maqsood, Hari Singh, Sham Sunder, Jaswant Singh, Avtar Singh, Harbans Lal, Mohd Sharif, Hosnak Chand and many others participated in the protest.
