RPPF highlights demands

JAMMU, Aug 24: A meeting of J&K Retired NGO Police Personnel was under the chairmanship of its president, Ajeet Singh, to highlight their demands.
The meeting raised the demand of one rank one pension for the retired police personnel on the lines of army. Moreover, the Forum stressed upon the Government to give 15% reservation quota in the police recruitment to the wards of police personnel.
He criticized the Government and the Police Department for not making any policy for resettlement of police personnel after their retirement.
He demanded that a committee be constituted at PHQ to frame policy to adjust the police retirees in public and private sector after retirement.
Referring to the ordinance issued by Central Government regarding one rank one pension for defence personnel, he demanded the State Government to bring such an ordinance in favour of State police personnel and get it passed.
The other demands highlighted by the Forum included providing life saving medicines to the needy retired police personnel from Police Hospital, 15% reservation for wards of police personnel in recruitment in Police department, sanctioned of marriage fund amounting to Rs 50, 000 at the time of marriage of their wards from Police Welfare Fund, sanction of Rs 50, 000 for last rites of police personnel at the time of their deaths, holding welfare melas to solve the problems of retirees and reimbursement of medicals bills of the retirees out of welfare funds.
