RAJOURI, May 7: The district body of Retired Police Personnel Forum (RPPF) today held a meeting under the chairmanship of its president, Om Parkash Sharma, to highlight their demands.
The meeting, which was attended by a large number of retired police personnel, raised the demand of one rank one pension for the retired police personnel on the lines of Army. Besides, the speakers demanded 15% quota for wards of police personnel in police recruitment and provision of free medical treatment for retired police personnel and their family members.
The other demands highlighted by the Forum were enhancement of medical allowance from Rs 300 to 1000 per month, financial assistance of at least Rs one lakh from the Police Welfare Fund in favour of retired police personnel at the time of marriages of their daughters and sanctioned of an amount of Rs 50,000 to the next of kin of the retired police personnel at the time of his death for performing last rites.
Meanwhile, the meeting also elected Sub Inspector (retd) Chander Mohan Sharma as president of the Forum for Kalakote tehsil.
