Rotary Eye & ENT Hospital conducts free cataract surgery

UDHAMPUR, July 29: The KLSM Rotary Eye & ENT Hospital Udhampur, in collaboration with Rotary Club Udhampur, successfully conducted free cataract surgery on 15 patients, who were discharged today.
Dr Ankur Goel, Dr Sumeru Raina along with their team performed the surgeries. All surgeries were done free of cost. All lodging and boarding facilities were provided by Sham Lal Khajuria, a social worker of the area. Social workers Preeti Khajuria (Councillor) and Ashwani Khajuria also rendered their services.
Earlier, KLSM Rotary Eye & ENT Hospital Udhampur – a unit of The Udhampur Rotary Eye & General Welfare Foundation, in collaboration with Rotary Club Udhampur, organized a free eye screening camp to screen the patients suffering with cataract blindness. Total 176 patients were screened and out of them, 17 were found in blind category. Yesterday, 15 of these patients reported and were operated for cataract surgery on the same day. All the patients regained their vision and were in a position to do the normal work.
Members of The Udhampur Rotary Eye & General Welfare Foundation, Rotary Club Udhampur along with Chairman Rtn D N Sharma and President Rotary Club Udhampur Rtn Rajeev Gupta were present while discharging the patients today.
